Dynamic Duo Get Set for New York!
Dynamic are helping two sporting ladies cross the pond to take part in one of the world's toughest road races - the New York Marathon.
Kay Leigh and Jill Higgs will be sporting Dynamic vests as they don their running shoes in the Big Apple and compete in the race, which this year takes place on Sunday 2nd November.
The event draws over a 100,000 applicants including world-class professional athletes to compete for the £600,000 prize money, but the girls are hoping to take the 26.2mile race in their stride.
"We are really excited - not to mention daunted - about taking part in the New York marathon," Said Kay. "Neither of us have run a full marathon before so we hope our fundraising efforts will make a difference."
The girls have been training hard for the event and took part in Sunday's Nottingham half marathon - which at just over 13 miles, took the girls just two hours, three minutes and 12 seconds. However, the New York Marathon will push their strength and endurance to the limit as they run through some of the city's famous boroughs including Staten Island, Bay Ridge and Fifth Avenue before they reach that elusive finish line in Central Park.
The girls, who have both lost friends and relatives to cancer, are hoping to raise over £6,500 for Yorkshire Cancer Research. The charity funds research into the cause and cure of cancer in Yorkshire, which in turn benefits sufferers the world over.
